I guess everyone in Finnish BMX-scene already knows what or where is the place called Sokeva. At least they should! Sokeva is a new recently built indoor skatepark which has an awesome miniramp, vert wall, few movable street obstacles, a concrete pool, a decent amount of wallrides and other little things for your pleasure.

Here are some photos, that has been taken fall 2012. It has took some time for me to publish these, because I’ve been one lazyassmothafucka. The reason for my laziness is the winter and the darkness that has surrounded us last three months. Now there is a little bit light at the end of the tunnel, because spring is now nearer. At least Timmo has been active with our Instagram profile. I’m also trying to be hardworking with my first selfmade edit, which is filmed at the SignatureBMX warehouse miniramp. (The miniramp has now been took down as the Signature shop is moving to it’s new location.) So stay tuned, if you wanna see what this girl’s first BMX edit looks like!

Yesterday was great. Warm summer evening, riding with friends and taking photographs.
The guy showing off his skills in photos below is Jonne Hämäläinen. Jonne has rode his bike 13 years so he has a really nice and unique style. Nothing is more enjoyable than watching Jonne taking huge air in ramps or trails.

Beer, sun, streets… and of course Patrick Alaspää. Patrick is definitely one of the toughest street riders in Finland. He rides for Signature BMX and Simple Bike Co.. Currently, he is suffering from knee and wrist injuries. We all know that these accidents won’t stop him, but they surely won’t help him to do those tricks easier either. We hope that the “inefficient” doctors and “the uncaring public healthcare” will fix him soon!

This was our second session outside this year and we also had some visitors from other cities. You already know Waly and Ablaye from our video The Brothers are gonna work it out, but we also had great pleasure to spend time with mr. Oliver Qvick. Oliver is a real street rider although he lives more than 1100km from Helsinki in a town called Inari. Inari is in the heart of Lapland, and if you take a look at the map, the pretty much only thing you see is uninhabited wilderness with high arctic hills. It’s amazing how this guy has got so talented with so few places to practise. So next time when you’re whining about bad and cold weather, think about Oliver. I guess, we’re lucky to live in southern Finland, and those in the US and southern Europe are even luckier.

Fuck Yeah!
The snow is almost gone and the streets of Helsinki are calling like never before. It feels so good, like you’ve been woken up from the dead. Just look at that guys face below. Smiling like the sun!
Ablaye & Waly Ndiaye, twin brothers from the northern city of Oulu, came to spend their winter holidays in Helsinki during the end of December. Timmo had a nice photoshoot session with these two finnish/senegalese super heroes in the famous miniramp at Signature BMX shop. Huge thanks goes to the whole Signature Crew, especially to Jonne who opened the doors and let the boys ride from evening to night. This venue will host the upcoming Signature Saturday Challenge.
